SCHOOL FACILITIES
AWARENESS ROOM for group setting. This is actually like a regular preschooler’s classroom scaled to the age, size and needs of the children. But unlike the regular P C room, the students are composed of what we call disabled children integrated with the non-disabled children. We call this awareness room because first - one purpose of this integration is to make the normal non-disabled children be aware of the existence of children like these with special needs in so doing we inculcate in them the sense of respect, camaraderie, and helpfulness above all other good virtues. In turn the disabled child also benefits by getting adjusted to mainstreaming. The other goal is to introduce various skills and experiences for overall development of the child - a requirement for entrance to regular school (To prepare them to socialize outside the family environment ). Everything in this school is hands-on and multi-sensorial ,to encourage the child to be active participants in the learning process .. As you’ll notice, classroom activities requires the child to explore by touching, smelling and so forth. It is a known fact, children especially of preschool age retain best if they experience the learning process first hand.

INDIVIDUALIZED TRAINING ROOM / TUTORIAL ROOM Individualized programming refers to instructional program in which the student works in appropriate tasks overtime under conditions that are motivating. After having identified the disabled child’s specific weaknesses during the evaluation, a program is created specifically to meet his needs. Our technique is unconventional, meaning unlike a regular school. Alternative teaching strategies are applied since many of our children cannot learn the traditional way.

MULTI-SENSORIAL CORNER To stimulate/improve child’s sensory perception.

SELF-HELP ROOM To help each child reach the goals of personal self-reliance, independence, we equip this room with furnitures and materials that would facilitate his/her training in functional skills. The room looks like a bed room, kitchen and dining area and we’re planning to add a living room area in the near future. As you can see we aim not just for academe but to teach daily living skills...we call it functionality. So their child will be able to feign for himself/herself with less assistance from the outside world.

ART AREA, Again, our approach is stimulation of their art, music potentials and other hands-on activities.

BLOCKS AREA

BATHROOM AREA, Aside for its function as relieving area, it is utilized to further establish and strengthen self-help skills as handwashing, brushing the teeth, toiletting etc.
